Just one of those days

I feel like I’m losing it lately. I yelled at Isaiah this afternoon. There was a bowl of cereal sitting on the edge of the kitchen table, full of milk, one of the kids had left out from breakfast (I spent the day super-cleaning their rooms so the kitchen didn’t get touched). I was sitting there knitting, and he wanted to eat it — yuck. Anyway he reached up and I just yelled ‘NO!’. I don’t think he’s been yelled at before, poor kid. He just burst into tears. I immediately felt like crap, I try never to yell at them.. and his tears just broke my heart. He was okay about 30 secs later of course, but man..
Had to cancel a shoot yesterday due to the damn weather. Poured all morning and was so overcast & dark. Will shoot them in two weeks time. Have a shoot on this saturday too with a little girl from Maddy’s dance class. Should just be these two shoots to get out of the way and then I can finally rest and not worry about shooting anyone else cept for my own kids til the baby arrives! I’m soooo looking forward to the time off, haha. We could really do with the money and all, but it’s just painful now scooting around after kiddos, getting down low, or moving around too quickly. Baby keeps pressing on nerves and I’m getting really bad back and stomach pains (I don’t think I HAVE any stomach mucles left now, feels like everything is going to fall out the front of me at any second!). Relaxing will be good for me I think.
These photos are nothing special, but look, my boy actually looked at me (my camera) today! Yes, he has a runny nose and drool on his chin, but I don’t care. He’s LOOKING at ME!

And since my niece was here for a bit this afternoon, I snuck in a photo. She’s *so* hard to shoot. She’s gorgeous and all, but her attention span is zilch and her eyes are really weak, so it’s extremely hard to get eye contact from her (tougher than getting eye contact from Isaiah at times!).

But when I *do* get what I’m waiting for, it’s POW. This one is shot at f1.8, 200 ISO, on the 85mm 1.8.

Unfortunetly about five minutes after I shot those, her brother (my faaaaav 9 y/o boy to photograph!) asked me to take some photos of him, but it was already too dark! Bummer. I’ve promised him we’ll take some photos again really soon. I actually have some mega cool ideas for a shoot with him, but need to buy the outfit and a couple of ‘props’ first.
Oooh! And I’ve finished my pink baby booties, and have started on a blanket/papoose type thing. It’s 80 stitches x 360 rows.. and I don’t knit very quickly, lol.
Am REALLY looking forward to getting a pair of gorgeous knitted bloomer-type things from Sissy Crabapple.com though. Check them out, soooo gorgeous.

Don’t feel bad about shouting at Zaiah, things like that just happen. He won’t remember it tomorrow morning, just remember what a great Mum you are.
Those photos are goregous! It’s so cute that he actually looked at you, and any photos that you take of him turn out beautifully. And Rhianna - WOW. You always take the most amazing photos of her, that leave me dreaming of being able to take something as good. I love the way her eyes in the second one feel almost like you can fall into them.
Kathy - Yeah I’m blogging now
I did have a photoblog, but it’s boooring posting images and not yabbering on about stuff at the same time haha.
Ina - thankyou so much
Kara - no prob. I can’t wait to take his photos either. I’m so excited about it, even more so cause he LOVES the camera and knows exactly how to ‘work it’
He has his model face down PAT. Jokingly, I told him he should be a model (this was last yr sometime) and it’s never left his head! I’m gonna be his manager apparently. Isn’t that adorable.
Bec - I know he won’t remember (unless I was shouting at him all the time or something) but it still sucks to know you made your kid feel like crap. Hey how’s living at your dad’s? Haven’t talked to you in ages
Aww! Don’t feel bad! Never being yelled at in over 1 year is a pretty awesome run! You’re a fantastic mum and I know that your kids must know it! I’m sure that zai has forgotten about the little outburst already :o)
These pics are gorgeous Amanda! So lovely that you got some of him participating! I love them all! Please flickr some so I can fave them :o)
I know, it’s been forever! We need to organise a time when we will both be on, lol. Life is good. I’ve been taking photos of everything lol! I have heaps of photos to show you that I can’t be bothered to put on flickr. I need to take some more goth photos. I’ve been to alive.
I need to be dead for awhile. Haha.
What amazing eyes! Awesome shot. Love your work!
WOW that last one is simply stunning!!! LOVE the ones of Isaiah too. I know how hard it is to get your own chickies to look at the camera—trust me I *know*, lol. But when they do, it’s gold isn’t it?
