The Screaming Banshee
September 27, 2009 | Category: Funny things, Uncategorized
I am posting this, because I know at least Kara will appreciate my pain here. Yesterday I took the older girls out for a photoshoot for Charlipop Kids. Lilly was SO EXCITED before we left. She was even excited when I got her out of the car. In fact, she was excited right up unto the point where I found a “spot” and got everything ready. Then of course.. I pull the camera out, and she turns on the waterworks. Screaming, crying, pulling horrible faces - oh yeah, SOOOO not into it. I will admit I lost my temper. Yep. And of course as soon as I packed things up and put her back into the car, she was asking if she was having photos again. So, of course, I unload the stuff, get her out of the car, take her over to the “spot”, and the wailing starts again. I ended up spending most of the time focused on photographing Maddy instead since she was WAY into it, and have just crossed my fingers and toes that somewhere amidst the wailing that I have a couple of Lilly that turned out OK. In the meantime, because I want you to get a laugh out of these as well (I am laughing NOW, but I was not not NOT laughing yesterday) I will post a few. The “real” ones I will probably post later on on my other blog.

Of course while I am trying to write this blog, she is here in my office happily playing on the rocking horse (although she is pretending is a train). She looks like Einstein, or perhaps Doc Brown because her hair is all crazy. So she is not a screaming banshee all of the time…

CUTE!!! Love the pram
OMG that is SO funny lol. And despite the tears she looks cute anyway. Can’t wait to see the others and especially as Maddy was good for you! She looks really sweet in the yellow dress!! I’m glad it fit her
Glad you’re still smiling. xx Kat
he he he
ROFLMFAO
bless her…. xx
Hahaha, oh no! How awful, and funny at the same time. You just gotta wonder what goes on in her head sometimes, don’t you? Cutie.
OH. MY. WORD! Seriously - you NAILED IT! That first one - that is SO what I imagined in my head. And there you are …. trying to snap away … trying not to be the mother we kindly take aside and say “she doesn’t do very well w/ you like this…” But nooooooo it’s our OWN CHILDREN that do this. It’s like if they KNOW we’re photographers, they MUST act up. If they were born into any other family they would LOVE cameras! You KNOW I feel your pain. I can’t even make myself get my camera out for baby maby right now. The waking up 17 times (NO LIE) last night put me over the edge. I say we swap for a bit.
If it makes you feel any better at least the shot is FABULOUS!
i LOVE the top one with the pram, i would hang that on my wall !!!
lol awwwe this is just precious all the same! you must have nerves of steel!
Oh GOSH, that is so familiar!!!!The first picture looks hilarious, without knowing the whole story behind;)
It’s nice to see the reality of your work with children. It’s quite hard sometimes, and probably even harder when your work is linked to our own children… Hopefully, the happy end is always around !
[...] it was done. Right at the end I let her get in front of the camera (because truthfully, going by past experiences I was not expecting anything) and she was just so funny. She told me “This is how [...]
BWAHAHA!!!! Hilarious!! I’m actually glad to know I’m not the only that loses my mind (and temper) when photographing my own kids! They don’t turn on a dime like Lily, but they have their own issues!!
